We are big fans of iced tea here, so when I make this, I make a gallon at a time. It goes quickly even still, that's for sure. We like our drinks cold, but we also don't like that ice dilutes it, and since I haven't made this in a while, I have to iced tea cubes (when I make it, I pour some in the ice cube trays so as it melts, the flavor remains the same).
- 8 tea bags (I use Lipton but it all depends on your preference)
- 16 cups water
- 1-1/3 cups sugar
- 2/3 cup lemon juice
It's super simple. Ready for these tough steps? Boil the water (I don't boil the entire 16 cups, probably about half of that). Once it is boiling hot, turn off the heat and add the 8 tea bags and let them seep for an hour. Once it's cool enough, pour into your container and add the sugar and lemon juice and stir until dissolved. Now, use the rest of the water to fill your container.
If you want the ice cubes too, just pour some into your ice cube tray and freeze and enjoy! (This works great for other drinks too!) Now, enjoy!
