How I Win Giveaways

This is one of the giveaway prizes that I am waiting for. I can't wait for it to arrive! Carter (and Amy) will get a LOT of use out of this one! There really isn't a secret to winning giveaways and sweepstakes. It's really all the luck of the draw, but I will share a few things that I do to try to improve those odds.

One of the first things I did when I started entering giveaways was to create a free blog. Some of the giveaways give you extra entries for sharing your link. I just used a free blog from blogger (If you have a gmail account, you have a blogger account.) It took me a while to figure it out, but those extra entries always help. If you decide not to do your own blog, that is ok too. You surrender the extra entries, but at least make a document so you can visit (and add to) your listing daily!

Now, where do you find the giveaways? Well, there are more giveaways than I could ever personally enter. I started with Online Sweepstakes. If you don't enjoy that site, that is fine. Do a simple search for giveaway listings or sweepstakes listings and you will find some others that you can check out. Once you have your listing, you are on your way.

Now you want to decide which social media you want to use and how you want to use it. I use email sparingly (although I did go crazy over the holidays and add more but I have been weeding them out these days.) There are only a few sites that I follow via email that are not on my listing. Next, decide which social media platforms you want to use. I personally use Facebook (I only visit for most of the sites - I leave my Facebook mostly for my friends and family - and some of the sites from my listing. I follow more on GFC (it used to be billed as Google Friend Connect and many bloggers still use this term) but it is mostly following through Blogger. Then, I registered with Pinterest, Instagram and Twitter.

Once you have figured out your listing and your social media, start entering! I think the biggest secret I can tell you is to do your daily entries. Daily you can tweet, sometimes just visit a site, etc. The daily entries add up. That's where you own personal listing helps the most. Yes, you can use mine, and that is up to you, but still, make your own so you know which ones you entered so you can get the daily entries too.

That being said, best of luck to you! I'm off to do some more of my daily entries. Daily entries here are often interrupted by hugs and tickles with my grandson. While you can't get the hugs from Carter, find another kid or grandkid to give you the hugs. I know I wouldn't have as much luck without those frequent interruptions!
